before delivery. The owners of the vehicles affected by this bulletin will be advised by a letter indicating the Vehicle
Identification Number (VIN) of each vehicle concerned.
DESCRIPTION
New wiper arms equipped with a stronger coil spring are now installed at the factory on the latest X3 Series
models with increased windshield curve. This higher coil spring tension improves contact between the
wiper blade and the windshield surface for better wiping performance.
The vehicles listed above haven’t been equipped with the improved wiper arms at time of assembly. For
this reason, Prevost recommends replacing the existing wiper arms by the new improved wiper arms.
NOTE: keep the replaced wiper arms as spare parts for older X3 vehicles.

DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop the engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition
switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button. On the
commuter type vehicles, set the battery master switch (master cut-out) to the OFF position.
Lockout & Tag out (LOTO) must be performed during set-up, maintenance or repair activities. Refer to
your local procedure for detailed information regarding the control of hazardous energy.
WIPER BLADE REMOVAL
1. Place the wipers in the starting position
as shown.

REMOVAL
3. On both wiper arms, disconnect the
washer fluid hoses at the nozzle
assemblies and at the lower fittings.
4. Remove the washer fluid hoses from the
wiper arms.

5. Remove the caps from the pivots.
6. Unscrew the nuts and remove the wiper
arms.

NEW WIPER ARMS PREPARATION
7. Place both new wiper arms on a table.
8. Remove the spacers (1 per arm) on the old
wiper arms and install on the new wiper
arms.
IMPORTANT: Place as shown with the open
side underneath.

9. Remove the nozzle assembly on one of the
two wiper arms. This wiper arm will then
be the street side wiper arm.

10. Rotate one of the wiper arms in order to
have two symmetrical units.

11. On each wiper arm, route the washer fluid
hose through the coil spring and the plastic
guide as shown.

STREET SIDE WIPER ARM PREPARATION
12. Recover the nuzzle assembly support
bracket from the old street side wiper arm
and install on the new street side wiper arm.
13. Adjust the hose position. It must extend the
plastic guide about 280 mm ( 11" ).
14. Route the washer fluid hose as shown and
connect to the nozzle assembly. Make sure
it will not interfere with the movement of the
mechanism.
15. Clip the nuzzle assembly on the support
bracket.

16. Install the wiper blade using the existing
A= nozzle assembly support bracket
fasteners. Keep in mind that the wiper blade B= grommet
must remain free in rotation. Use Loctite 243 C= nozzle assembly
on threads.

CURB SIDE WIPER ARM PREPARATION
17. Adjust the hose position. It must extend the
plastic guide about 230 mm ( 9" ).
18. Connect the washer fluid hose. Make sure
to rotate the hose while connecting it on the
nozzle assembly in order to have the hose
leaning on the wiper arm. Make sure the
hose will not interfere with the movement of
the mechanism.
19. Install the wiper blade using the existing
fasteners. Keep in mind that the wiper blade
must remain free in rotation. Use Loctite
243.

20. Reinstall the wiper arms, making sure the
blades align with the marks made at the
beginning of this procedure.

21. Tighten the wiper arms nut to 22 lbs-ft.
Reinstall the caps from the pivots.

22. Make sure that each fluid washer hose extend
280 mm (11") long. If necessary, move the
excessive length at the upper end of the wiper
arm.
23. Connect the washer hoses to the lower fittings.

This modification is covered by Prevost’s normal warranty. We will reimburse you the parts (two wiper arms)
and 3/4 hour (0.75) of labor upon receipt of a warranty claim. Please submit claim via our Online Warranty
System, available at www.prevostcar.com (under Service \ Warranty section). Use Claim Type:
“Bulletin/Recall” and select ‘’Warranty Bulletin WB19-39 ".
