Introduction
Peterbilt has determined that certain chassis built between March 01, 2017 and August 26, 2019 that are equipped with MX-11/MX-13 EPA2017 engines,
and with Eaton UltraShift or Fuller transmissions may experience an engine overspeed error when going downhill. New shift calibrations have improved
protective upshift logic to allow upshift sooner when approaching overspeed conditions.
Resolution
CAMPAIGN
Service all chassis affected that enter the dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list.
If you are not using SmartLINQ Service Management to start repair orders, review DWWC or SIR for “Complete” next to the “26032”campaign
code prior to performing this repair.
3. Also, complete ALL other open campaigns during this service event.

Warranty
Through standard warranty or for repairs completed by 12/01/2020, whichever is greater, Peterbilt will pay for labor.
0.30 hours to confirm that the transmission software and transmission shift calibration software are up to date and both require no further updates.
File a long form and reference 26-032.
The Transmission Software number must be included in the claim.
The Transmission Shift Calibration number must be included in the claim.
0.50 hours labor to update the transmission calibration software. Refer to cross-reference table in the procedure section for the appropriate quick
claim.
File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances, referencing 26-032 in the CCC. A quick claim for standard labor must be filed first.

An outline of the update process is included in the Attachments

Connect to the transmission control module (TCM) with Eaton Service Ranger.
2.
Confirm the transmission software is at 5569989 or newer.
3.
Refer to the chart below to determine the appropriate new Shift Calibration with Protective Upshift Fix.
