This procedure applies ONLY to certain WorkStar® trucks with MaxxForce® 9 engines
and flagged with MIN # 13103. All other vehicles built during this period have either
been repaired prior to shipment or determined not to require this repair procedure.
Models Involved:
WorkStar® with MaxxForce® 9
Description:
This MIN applies to certain WorkStar® trucks with MaxxForce® 9 engines that were built
8 February 2012 through 9 January 2013. This procedure is required ONLY for the
vehicles coded in Service PortalSM system with MIN # 13103. Vehicles involved in this
campaign were released from assembly plants with incorrect engine emissions labels.
These vehicles will require a new EPA emissions label to be affixed to the engine.

Work Instructions:
WARNING! Park vehicle on hard flat surface, turn the engine off, set the parking
brake, and block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving in both
directions. Failure to do so may result in property damage, personal injury or
death.
WARNING! To prevent personal injury or death, wear safety glasses with side
shields.
1. To obtain new emissions label, submit a Technical Service iKNow case file to
programming support group in Service PortalSM system. In the description of issue
field, enter the following:
VIN, dealer contact name, phone number, and shipping address information.
NOTE: Make sure to coordinate this repair activity to allow for shipment of the label
and minimize customer downtime.

2. Remove International Emissions Control Information Label (Figure 1) by lifting one
corner with gasket scrapper or screwdriver.

WARRANTY CLAIMS
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE
Expense is to be charged to Warranty. Claims are to be submitted in the normal manner, making
reference to MIN-13103.
It is important that the coding be completed properly to assist in processing the warranty claim. Complete
instructions will be found in the Warranty Policy Manual, Section 7.1.8.
As with all claim submissions, items acquired locally must be submitted in the "Other Charges" tab. The
cost of any bulk items (such as bag of cable tie straps, roll of wire, barrel of oil, or tube of silicone) should
be prorated for the cost of the individual pieces / amount used during each repair.
To ensure this important improvement is made in a timely manner, all claims for MIN 13103 activity must
be submitted by 28 February 2014 or within the normal warranty period for the vehicle, if after 28
February 2014.
