WKG8 Workshop campaign – Re-coding airbag control unit

Overview
The airbag control unit on the affected vehicles was coded with an incorrect data record.

As a result, the Event Data Recorder (EDR) function is activated although this is not yet approved for the
vehicle type. This function can be used to record certain historical data without the customer's consent in the

event of an accident.
To deactivate this function again, the airbag control unit must be re-coded using an updated data record.
