SERVICE INFORMATION
GT-R Nismo vehicles are transported with a special cover to protect the vehicle finish
during transport.


Please refer to the following protective cover removal Service Procedure, starting on
page 2, when a protective cover needs to be removed for any reason.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
The vehicle used in the following Service Procedure is not a NISMO, and is only present to
demonstrate the removal of the NISMO protective cover.
The following steps are shown from the
driver side.
 Passenger side is similar.
 Remove only one side at a time
unless otherwise instructed.
1.

Location of
tape

Remove the tape that attaches the
protective cover to the windshield.
a. Remove the tape from the
locations shown in Figure 1.

2.

Open the driver door protective cover
zipper.
a. Pull the zipper down to the bottom
of the door,
b. And then toward the front of the
vehicle,

c. And then up.

Roll up the door cover as shown in
Figure 6.
c. Hold the door protective cover
away from the door while rolling it.
Do not let the door
protective cover contact the door while
rolling it up or the paint may be
scratched.

Secure the door protective cover to
the roof with the integral Velcro strap.

Open the driver door.
Inner door
protective cover

Remove the inner door protective
cover.
a. Detach the two (2) protective cover
tabs from the bottom edge of the
kicking plate inner (see Figure 8
and Figure 9).

b. Remove the tape from behind the
B-pillar.

Figure 11 shows the inner door
protector removed.

Open the hood.

Close the driver door.


Confirm that the inner door
protective cover is not caught
between the door and the door
jamb.

Unroll the door protector.
Do not let the door
protective cover contact the door while
unrolling it or the paint may be
scratched.

Zipper

Zip the door protective cover back into
place.

11.

Perform steps 2-10 on the passenger
side of the vehicle, and then proceed
to step 12.

Detach the bottom corners of the wheel arch protectors for all four (4) wheels.

Fold all four (4) wheel arch protectors out.

Remove the two (2) hooks of the
protective cover from under the rear
bumper fascia.

15.

Remove the protective cover from the
underside of the rear bumper fascia.
Do not let the hooks contact
the rear bumper fascia or the paint
may be scratched.

Detach the four (4) hooks of the
protective cover from underneath the
door sill on each side of the vehicle.


already removed.

Do not let the hooks contact
the sides the vehicle or the paint may
be scratched.

Roll the rear bumper fascia/wing part
of the protective cover as shown in
Figure 22.
Only allow the inside of the
cover to touch the paint or the paint
may be scratched.

18.

Roll the protective cover toward the
center of the roof and retain it with the
integral Velcro strap shown in
Figure 24.


Repeat on the other side.

Only allow the inside of the
cover to touch the paint or the paint
may be scratched.

19.

After both the driver and passenger
sides have been rolled and secured,
roll the entire protective cover from the
rear forward, and rest it on the roof.

20.

Remove the protective cover from the
front bumper fascia as shown in
Figure 26.
Only allow the inside of the
cover to touch the paint or the paint
may be scratched.

21.

Lift the front of the protective cover up
and over the open hood and then
place it on the windshield.

22.

Remove the protective cover from the
vehicle.

23.

Detach the two (2) driver side Velcro
straps (shown in Figure 28) and then
two (2) passenger side Velcro straps
that retain the bottom of the hood
protective cover.

24.

When the hood protective cover is
free, roll it toward the front of the
vehicle.


Roll the Velcro straps into the
cover.

Only allow the inside of the
cover to touch the paint or the paint
may be scratched.

Remove the hood protector.

CLAIMS INFORMATION
Additional time has already been added to the PDI flat rate time for the removal of the
protective cover.
