SERVICE ACTION: REPLACE B48E EXHAUST
TURBOCHARGER F39
Please perform the procedure outlined in this Service Information on all affected vehicles before customer
delivery. In the event the customer has already taken delivery of the vehicle, please perform the procedure
the next time the vehicle is in the shop.

F39 (X2 M35i Sports Activity Coupe with B48E)
AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves X2 M35i vehicles (159 units) produced from November 30, 2018 to February 13,
2019.
Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in
AIR, or the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System).
SITUATION
The vehicle could lose power due to a damaged wastegate actuator.
CORRECTION
Replace the exhaust turbocharger, which includes the wastegate, its actuator, and the exhaust manifold.
PROCEDURE
Replace the exhaust turbocharger per REP “11 65 020 Removing and installing/replacing exhaust
turbocharger”.
Warning: Hot surfaces danger of burning! Work only on cooled-down components.
