Notes:
If you experience problems with the VAS-PC application, i.e.: will not launch or hangs up
etc., it is not necessary to perform a complete reload. Instead, uninstall, reinstall and
configure the VAS-PC application using the current Base CD, as well as install the latest
Brand CD.
Should a tester fail to boot or boot to a blue screen, display Windows Operating System
error messages or cease to function, confirm tester battery condition and proceed as
follows: Perform a complete reload by running the current Recovery DVD where
applicable, reinstall and configure the current Base CD as well as install the latest Brand
CD. Recovery DVDs are tester specific. The VAS 6150/A DOES NOT have a Recovery
DVD. For complete recovery procedures, please refer to the device specific instructions
located in Service Net.
Base and Brand CDs are not tester-specific. These CDs can be loaded on any VAS
diagnostic device. New Brand versions overwrite the previous version.
Brand CDs must only be loaded on a VAS device with a compatible core Base version
number. E.g.: Brand V19.xx.xx must only be installed on a device running Base
V19.xx.xx.
VAS 5051A and 5052 devices are no longer supported with updated software. VAS
5052 devices should not be updated beyond Base/Brand version 17.
