Neutral at Stop (NAS) Feature Enable
MODELS AFFECTED:
1000 and 2000 Series Transmissions
Introduction:
Allison Transmission, Inc. is providing a Customer Satisfaction Field Action to enable the Neutral at Stop (NAS)
feature on vehicles equipped with the NAS hardware at no cost.
The NAS feature may have been disabled in vehicles built with NAS equipped transmissions in circumstances
including the following:
• No input activation (service brake status) to the TCM.
• Omitted wires (131 and 137) in wire harness from the TCM to the transmission connector for the output.
• NAS feature disabled in the calibration.
WARNING: Damage to the transmission may occur if a transmission equipped with the NAS hardware
has this feature disabled.
Customer Notification:
In order to participate in the NAS enabling initiative, all work must be completed prior to December 31st, 2016. Any
repair orders completed after this date will not be reimbursed under this program.
Allison Distributors and Dealers will provide calibration to enable the Neutral at Stop feature.
Warranty claims are to be submitted into the Allison AWAARE system within 30 days of repair.
TCM recalibrating with the NAS feature enabled costs for this Field Action will be handled by Allison Transmission
and Allison Transmission Distributors and Dealers.
Allison Service Outlets Field Action Responsibility:
NOTE: To complete this field action, chassis wire harness modification may be required. This modification
must be done prior to TCM recalibration by Allison Distributor or Dealer. Refer to Allison Technical
Data found on the Extranet for information regarding the TCM Input/Output and associated wiring.

Service Outlets shall take the following steps to recalibrate TCMs in order to enable the NAS feature.
1. Confirm the vehicle has a transmission equipped with NAS hardware, use the Unit History tool on the
Allison Extranet.

2. Prior to reprogramming the TCM, all Customer Modifiable Constants (CMC’s), active I/O package number
and wire configurations must be saved.
