Issue
On some M2 trucks with lean issues at the rear of the truck, the lean can be caused
by intolerances of axles, saddles, springs or suspension components which makes
the rear springs and axle perform as a torsion bar causing the truck to lean.

Follow these steps to check and correct;
Always follow shop safety procedures
If you have an M2 with lean complaint, please follow the following.

1. You must measure the truck with the truck sitting level floor, left and right at the frt and rear axle.
2. If the truck is leaning left at the frt and rear axle, raise the low side of the frt axle till the frt is even.
Once even, measure the rear again to see is still leaning the same as before.
3. If the measurements are down on opposite corners, stop, frame is twisted and this will not apply,
check the body for cause.
4. Once 2 is verified, check the saddles for the cast angle number being on the saddle wing (See
drawing below), 2 degree will have a 2 on the wing etc, make sure the same number is the same
direction on the left and right saddle.
5. Only after 2 and 5 are completed, truck sitting level floor, measure the angle of the spring in frt of
the axle housing a few times on each side, on the left and right as near the axle housing as
possible, each time you measure, you want 4 of 5 measurements to be within .1 degree the
same. It is hard to see the angle meter on top of the spring to read, place on hold on top of the
spring then you can remove from the spring to see the angle.
6. Normal for a truck leaning 3/8 inch at the frame will be approx 1.0 degree difference left and right.
7. Left side of the truck lower, left side down 1.3 degrees, change the left side saddle where the
angle will increase the spring angle, if no saddle is available, go to the right side and reduce the
spring angle by 2 degrees.
8. Look in Parts Pro for the saddle part number your truck should have, the angle of the saddle will
be in the description. I have seen wrong saddles installed left and right and reverse causing
leans, see number 4.

This repair should be no more than 1 hour above SRT for saddle replacement.
