Campaign #3655 replaces grade 5 bolts with grade 8 bolts for the pintle joint on all
affected trailers for C70 D2RE and C100 D2RE generator sets.
Verification/Confirmation
Inspect all trailer pintle joints for grade 5 bolts on the C70 D2RE and C100 D2RE
generator sets.
Description of Change
Instructions:
1. Remove and replace any grade 5 bolts with grade 8 bolts supplied through MDC.
2. Torque the 5/8 inch grade 8 bolt, with lubricated nut, to 159 Ft/Lb.

The repair must be done by a qualified, authorized field technician.
1. Inspect the C70 D2RE and C100 D2RE trailer for grade 5 bolts on the pintle joint
location.
2. Remove and replace any grade 5 bolts with grade 8 bolts, supplied through MDC.

3. Torque the 5/8 inch grade 8 bolt, with lubricated nut, to 159 Ft/Lb.
