2017 QX30; PUSH-BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH
MID-YEAR CHANGE

2017 QX30 (H15)

SERVICE INFORMATION
A mid-year change has been made to the ignition system in the Applied Vehicles.
Vehicles produced on November 3, 2016 and after (see VIN information on page 2) are equipped with a pushbutton ignition switch instead of a turning ignition switch.
NOTE: See Figures 1 and 2 on page 2 to view images of both ignition switches.
In addition, vehicles equipped with the push-button ignition switch include the following features:





All doors automatically unlock when the ignition is turned OFF
All doors automatically lock when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH
Windows open/close when holding down Intelligent Key unlock/lock button
Emergency engine shut off by rapidly pushing ignition switch three (3) times

Do NOT retrofit the push-button ignition switch to vehicles produced before the application date. Please
reference Infiniti Parts and Service Bulletin IPSB/16-422.



Modifications to the ignition switch are unauthorized, and may violate Federal law by making
inoperative a device installed in compliance with Federal safety standards.



Damage or failure due to changes or modifications to the ignition switch system are not covered under
the terms of the warranty.



Damage or failure due to changes or modifications to the ignition switch system are not subject to
indemnification under the terms of the Infiniti Dealer Sales and Service Agreement.



Retailers may be obligated under their Sales and Service Agreement to indemnify Infiniti for any
damages, injuries, or deaths caused by modification of the ignition switch system.
