This TSB supersedes TSB 18-AT-014 to include 2017-2018 Elantra Sport (AD) and 2015-2017
Sonata Eco (LFa).
Description: This bulletin provides the procedure to update the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) in
certain vehicles (listed Below) when replacing the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with updated
clutch material. This bulletin also provides a method of identifying transmissions with the updated
F850 clutch material.

SUBJECT: TCU SOFTWARE UPDATE WHEN REPLACING 7-SPEED DCT
CAUTION
The TCU software update should only be performed when the Dual Clutch Transmission or
Double-Clutch set has been replaced with the updated F850 clutch material.
NOTICE
The TCU software can only be performed in manual mode.
Refer to the General Instructions found in TSB: 15-GI-001 (GDS Mobile) and 15-GI-002
(PC GDS).
Service Procedure:
1. When replacing a Dual Clutch Transmission, refer to the table on page 2 of this TSB to identify
new or old clutch material.
2. Only if the Dual Clutch Transmission is identified to have the new F850 clutch material should
you perform the TCU update procedure.
3. The TCU update can only be performed in Manual Mode. Follow TSB: 15-GI-001 (GDS Mobile)
and 15-GI-002 (PC GDS) for GDS update procedure.
4. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes in the ALL menus and erase any DTC.
5. Erase the DTC in the BlueLink system according to TSB 12-BE-005-2.
6. Confirm normal vehicle operation.
