G05 CAMPAIGNS OVERVIEW
This Service Information bulletin replaces SI B08 03 18 dated October 2018

SITUATION
The calendar page has flipped to November and we are pleased to announce that you can now deliver and
retail RDR the all new X5 (G05) once you have remedied all recalls/delivery stops.
As previously communicated, ALL G05s will need to be flashed with updated software to enhance the customer
experience - I-Level S18A-11-523. This straightforward ~45 minute flashing procedure will remedy either or
BOTH the open KAFAS and BDC control unit stop sales (same remedy for each).
Additionally, there a small number of G05s that will require more extensive technical service campaigns, thereof
the most time consuming is the baffle seal repair (if applicable). Limited parts will be available next week for the
baffle seal repair and BMW will reimburse dealers $260 for 1 month of floorplan expense on the baffle seal
impacted vehicles only due to the delay of parts availability. BMW will automatically push that reimbursement
out to affected dealers on the November parts statement.
Attached are the latest details on all of the campaigns. The following slides serve as a friendly reminder guide to
view VIN specific delivery stops/recalls in ROSS for your own inventory and how to enter an RDR override once
all delivery stops/recalls are remedied.

RDR INSTRUCTIONS FOR VINS WITH CAMPAIGNS.

Make sure you complete all open recalls/delivery stops before selling or delivering any vehicle. Note: system will stop you from retailing a vehicle
with open campaigns.
You can move forward with the sale as long as you have a repair order line item for each of the open recalls/delivery stops.
Submit claim as soon as possible – Stop Sale Flag (SSF) comes off up to 3 days after submission.
If SSF is still on, you have an option to do a Stop Sale Override as long as you have an RO and RO close date for every open campaign.
TIP: You can use actual repair date if you do not have an RO close date.

Audit: You may receive an inquiry letter from Retail Audit requesting documentation showing that the repair was performed prior to retail. The required documentation is
the RO with the corresponding technician’s punch times for the recall repair. All overrides will be checked against the Warranty system. If a valid claim matching the
override details is not found or if the RO Close Date is after the Retail Date, the information will go to Retail Audit for audit purposes and verification.
