Description
On select Newmar 2019 King Aire floorplans, the Rev-A-Shelf pantry guide may not have been securely
installed.
Issue: During pantry extension, the screws may be pulled out of the bottom of the cabinet due to the added
weight of items stored on the pantry shelves.
Affected Units: Refer to the attached population list for affected coach and VIN numbers.

Recommended Action
Correction: Dealers will install spacers and screws to secure the pantry guide. Follow the attached work
instructions to complete the process. Please call your Newmar Service Account Manager to obtain the
proper parts and authorization.

How to Secure a 2019 King Aire Rev-A-Shelf Pantry
1. Order the spacers and screws to complete the field repair for each Rev-A
Shelf pantry. Note: Some coach floorplans have two pantries installed.
2. Unload the customer’s items from each pantry.
3. Remove the lower shelf by removing the clip at the front of shelf (on top),
and then lift the shelf to remove.
4. Follow the inserted Rev-A-Shelf Pantry Removal Guide.
• You may be able to skip step 4 and 5 in the Rev-A-Shelf Pantry
Removal Guide.
• If you perform step 4 and 5, mark the back plate with tape prior to
loosening. This will provide a height indicator to make sure the
existing screw holes can be used when reassembling the pantry.
• If you need a visual aid for disassembly or installation, refer to the
installation video (YouTube: Installing the Pullout Wood Pantry).
o Pantry installation begins around 6:50 in the video.
o Pantry disassembly begins around 9:47 in the video.

Removing the Clip and Lower Shelf

5. Mark the bottom cabinet panel on each side of
the guide.
6. Remove the screws attaching the guide to the
bottom of the cabinet, and set it aside.
7. Mark the center point, and drill a four-inch
hole in the 3/8” chipboard pantry panel by the
rear and front screw holes. This measurement
may vary based upon the cabinet depth.

Install and Secure Spacers

8. Install spacers (two layers of 18mm luan and
one layer of 11mm luan) to build up the cavity
between the slideout floor and the 3/8” chip
board.
• Coaches may have an additional backer
layer attached to the 3/8” chip board. In this
case, use one layer of 18mm luan and one
layer of 5/8” plywood to fill the gap
between the floor and the attached backer.
9. Using 2” screws, attach the spacers to the
slideout floor.

10. Reinstall the pantry guide by fastening it to the spacers using four 3” screws
at the rear of the cabinet and two 2” screws at the front of the cabinet.
11. Reinstall the pantry shelf assembly by reversing the steps outlined in the RevA-Shelf Pantry Removal Guide.
12. Adjust the tilt of the pantry so the door closes evenly with the cabinet stiles.
13. Test the pantry operation, making sure the floating panel at the back of the
pantry extends up past the top stile.
14. Place the customer’s items back in the pantry.
