STRAP REPLACEMENT
Please perform the procedure outlined in this Service Information on all affected vehicles before
customer delivery. In the event the customer has already taken delivery of the vehicle, please
perform the procedure the next time the vehicle is in the shop.
This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI B54 04 16 dated December 2016.

AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves 2 Series Convertibles produced from 4/6/2015 to 8/25/16.
Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked
either in AIR, the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key
Reader.
SITUATION
The tensioning strap that is fastened to the headliner could fail during convertible top operation.
Convertible top could be damaged by tensioning strap failure (approx. 10% of vehicles).
CAUSE
Tensioning strap can become jammed or trapped in convertible top mechanism leading to failure.
CORRECTION
Replace tensioning strap or headliner (includes reworked tensioning strap), if headliner damaged.
PROCEDURE
1. Check the headliner for damage in the Cpillar area on the left and right sides.
