Reason for this Service Action
Aston Martin has found a problem with the bracket for the rear fuse box on Vanquish Zagato Volante and Vanquish
Zagato Speedster vehicles.
Do the procedure that follows to replace the bracket for the rear fuse box.

Workshop Procedure
1.

Open the boot lid.

Note:

Make sure that the boot lid stays open during the steps that follow. The boot lid latch is operated
electronically and will not open when the battery is disconnected.

Disconnect the vehicle battery. (Refer to Workshop manual procedure: 14.01.CA Battery Disconnection and
Connection Procedure.)

Release the weather strip on the right side of the
luggage compartment opening. (Refer to Figure 1.)

CAUTION:

IN STEPS 4 THRU 11 MAKE SURE THAT NO DAMAGE TO THE LEATHER OF THE SIDE PANEL
OCCURS. TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LEATHER IF SUFFICIENT PROTECTION IS NOT
USED.

Remove the cover for the rear fuse box. (Refer to
Figure 2.)

Remove the two screws that attach the panel for the
12V power supply to the side panel of the luggage
compartment. (Refer to Figure 3.)

Release the 12V power supply to get access to the electrical connection.

7.

Disconnect the 12V power supply.

8.

Release the luggage compartment light from the side
panel of the luggage compartment to get access to
the electrical connection. (Refer to Figure 4.)

Disconnect the luggage compartment light.

10. Remove the screw and the two fir tree clips that
attach the side panel of the luggage compartment to
the vehicle. (Refer to Figure 5.)

11. Remove the side panel of the luggage compartment.
12. Remove the insulation cap and the nut that attaches
the main power cable to the fuse box. (Refer to
Figure 6.)
For installation: Torque the nut to 12Nm.

Disconnect the main power cable from the fuse box.

14. Remove the two nuts that attach the bracket for the
rear fuse box to the vehicle. (Refer to Figure 7.)

Lift the fuse box assembly into the luggage compartment.

16. Release the two relays from the top of the fuse box.
(Refer to Figure 8.)

17. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from the
fuse box. (Refer to Figure 9.)

18. Move the fuse box as shown to release it from the
bracket for the rear fuse box. (Refer to Figure 10.)

Remove the fuse box.

20. Remove the two nuts that attach the latch module
for the boot lid to the bracket for the rear fuse box.
(Refer to Figure 11.)
For installation: Torque the nuts to 5.4Nm.

Remove the latch module for the boot lid from the bracket for the rear fuse box.

22.

Discard the bracket for the rear fuse box.

23.

Do steps 21 thru 16 in the opposite sequence to make the new bracket and rear fuse box assembly.

24.

Move the new bracket and rear fuse box assembly into position.

25.

Do steps 13 thru 12 in the opposite sequence to connect the main power cable to the fuse box.

26. Install and torque the two nuts that attach the
bracket for the rear fuse box to the vehicle to
3.5Nm. (Refer to Figure 12.)

27. Install and torque the new bolt to attach the bracket
for the rear fuse box to the audio amplifier to 10
Nm. (Refer to Figure 13.)

CAUTION:

IN STEP 28 MAKE SURE THAT NO DAMAGE TO THE LEATHER OF THE SIDE PANEL OCCURS.
TOOLS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LEATHER IF SUFFICIENT PROTECTION IS NOT USED.

28.

Do steps 11 thru 4 in the opposite sequence to install the side panel of the luggage compartment.

29.

Connect the vehicle battery. (Refer to Workshop manual procedure: 14.01.CA Battery Disconnection and
Connection Procedure.)

Close the boot lid.
