DESCRIPTION

This document will guide the user through the inspection and replacement of the hood

mounted mirror assembly. (Glass ONLY replacement is not recommended.) As of November

2017, the design for the mirror glass attachment has changed to be permanently epoxied into

the housing. Servicing the glass only is no longer an option.

assemblies)

********** SERVICE PART ALERT **********

Note: All C93 or C94 replacement mirror assemblies should have a Green Dot added

to the P/N lable and/or on the mirror packaging. The green dot indicates the mirror

assembly has had epoxy added to the internal clips so the glass panel cannot be

removed or fall out of the housing assembly. If the glass can be removed by rotating

the interal lever behind the glass panel; return the mirror assembly back to Navistar for

an assembly that has been epoxied.
REPAIR / INSPECTION STEP(s)

Inspect the condition of the mirror assembly. If the mirror is either loose or missing, the

complete mirror assembly (Head & Arm) will need to be replaced.

Note: The replacement mirror assemblies have the glass epoxied in place. Going forward all

LT hood mirror glass panels will not be serviceable separately. The entire mirror assembly

(Head & Arm) will need to be replaced to avoid the glass from falling out during vehicle

operation.

Complete Mirror Replacement Procedure

1. Open hood to gain access to the the mirror assembly mounting hardware.

2. Remove 4 fasteners (Figure 1, item 1).

3. Remove complete mirror assembly from vehicle taking care not to damage top coat paint.

4. Reinstall new mirror and torque fasteners to 9-12 ft-lb (12.2 - 16.2 Nm)

5. Close and relatch hood. Readjust mirror glass as needed.
