Information:

On vehicles with a single-mass flywheel, there is a possibility that the fastening screws on the
clutch pressure plate can loosen over the service life of the vehicle due to vibrations in the
drive train.
If this happens, the customer may notice a change in the clutch pedal pressure point.

Remedial
Action:

Replace fastening screws on the clutch pressure plate with screws that have an additional coating of
screw locking compound.

Affected
Vehicles:

Only the vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PIWIS Vehicle information). This campaign affects
247 vehicles in North America.

Disconnect ground line at the battery.
For instructions, see  Workshop Manual '2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the
battery'.
Raise the vehicle using a lifting platform  Workshop Manual '4X00IN Lifting the vehicle'.
Information
When raising the vehicle, take care to maintain access to the screws for the diagonal struts close to
the rear jacking points.
