Rear Body Panel- Design Change

INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information bulletin advises of a design change made to the rear body panel. This panel is located
between the trunk and the rear glass and incorporates the package shelf. It has been re-designed with 2 convex
surfaces added to prevent items going into or out of the trunk from being scratched or caught by the rear edges of
the reinforcement panels (shown in red) on the illustrations below.

PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
This new body panel was put into production during mid-April, 2017. The starting VIN will be
added to this bulletin when it becomes available.
PART INFORMATION:
The new part numbers for the “PANEL COMPLETE R” are 53105AL02C9P and 53105AL03C9P.
Always order the most up-to-date part as specified by the VIN.
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.

The service procedures for replacement of the panel remain unchanged. Always refer to the
applicable Body Repair Manual and Service Manual to review the full requirements of the repair
being performed before proceeding. The Manual procedures contain information critical to
performing an effective repair the first time and every time. This includes but is not limited to:
important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes
and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
