Reason for this Service Action
Some early Vanquish Ultimate vehicles were sold with the incorrect splash screen software installed. Do the workshop
procedure below to install the correct software.

CAUTIONS:

Notes:

YOU MUST CONNECT A BATTERY CHARGER TO THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU DO DIAGNOSTIC
PROCEDURES. IF THE VEHICLE BATTERY VOLTAGE DECREASES DURING THE PROCEDURE,
THE UPDATE CAN FAIL AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MODULE.

You will need a USB storage device that has a minimum of 100 Mb storage space to do this software
update procedure.
Make sure that the USB stick does not have files on it from other software updates.
This software update will erase all personal preferences and settings that have been stored and it will
set the infotainment system back to the initial factory condition.
You must remove the vehicle from the list of paired Bluetooth devices on a mobile phone, tablet or
other device that has been paired to the infotainment system.

1.

Make sure that the AMDS software has updated to the latest version.
Note: The software for this procedure is part of the AMDS version 2.61 update.

2.

Navigate to the C:\ADS\SW_ICU folder on your AMDS laptop.

3.

Copy the file AML_MY185_1100x310_220218_MASTER_RO.update on to a USB storage device.

4.

Set the vehicle ignition to on and wait for the infotainment system to fully start.
Note: The audio icon will be highlighted.

5.

Open the armrest storage tray to access the USB port.

Connect the USB storage device to the USB port.

If the infotainment system identifies a USB storage device with a .update file, the display screen will change to
black. A text message related to the update will display.

8.

The update procedure will start automatically. The procedure will continue for two and a half minutes and will
restart the Infotainment Control Unit twice.

9.

The automatic update procedure is complete when the infotainment system has started again and displays the
main menu.

10. Set the ignition to Off.
11. Remove the USB storage device.
12. Get out of the vehicle and lock it.
13.

Wait for a minimum of two minutes. The Infotainment Control Unit will go into full sleep.

14.

Unlock the vehicle.

15.

Set the ignition to On.

16.

Use the joystick to navigate to the System Information
page. The page will display the updated Part Numbers
for the App and for the Base (refer to Figure 1).

Note:

The personal preferences and settings that were stored in the infotainment system must be put back in.
You must then do the Bluetooth pairing procedure again to pair the applicable mobile phone, tablet or
other device to the infotainment system. Refer to the Bluetooth pairing instructions in the Owner’s Guide
of the vehicle.
