Peterbilt Motors Company is sending you this letter to advise that certain Model 579 and 567 vehicles manufactured
from July 24, 2017 through October 20, 2017 may exhibit an interference of the Davco fuel filter coolant fittings with
the brake chamber on the front axle due to insufficient clearance between these components. Sustained contact
between the fittings and the brake chamber may cause the fittings to break and leak coolant.

The Davco Fuel Filter May Interfere With the Brake Chamber On Model 579/567 Vehicles

Introduction
Peterbilt has determined that certain Model 579/567 vehicles built between July 24, 2017 and October 20, 2017 with
short hoods, Davco Coolant Heat option, drum brakes, and front axles rated at less than or equal to 14,600 pounds
may exhibit interference between the coolant fittings on the Davco fuel filter and the brake chamber due to
insufficient clearance. Repeated contact between the fuel filter coolant fittings and the brake chamber may cause the
fittings to break and leak or may cause canister damage.
Resolution
Campaign
Any truck entering the dealership with the above conditions will need to replace the nylon lines with new nylon lines
and rotate the Davco fuel filter base away from the brake chamber and brake chamber lines.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty or for repairs completed by 03/01/2019, whichever is greater, Peterbilt will pay for parts
at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
1.5 hours labor to rework the Davco fuel filter and lines. File a long claim.
