DELIVERY STOP: REPLACE UNDERHOOD EMISSIONS LABEL

This Service Information bulletin replaces SI B71 02 18 dated March 2018.

MODEL
F30 (3 Series)
Produced between November 14, 2017 and February 11, 2018.

SITUATION
A Delivery Stop has been issued (effective March 2, 2018) on Model Year 2018 BMW 3 Series vehicles that
have been produced from November 14, 2017 – February 11, 2018. The affected vehicles were equipped with
an incorrect emissions label which must be replaced.
Approximately 1,032 vehicles are affected by this delivery stop / recall, consisting of 773 in dealer inventory and
259 retailed. Additionally, there are approximately 3,106 vehicles in the pipeline.
Affected vehicles will show the campaign as “Open” when checked either in AIR or ISPA Next. Once the
Warranty Vehicle Inquiry system is updated on Saturday, March 3, 2018, it will display the same information.
The affected vehicles will be identified with the description: STOP012917 B710218 Delivery Stop: Emissions
Label
The bulletin will be updated with warranty information when it becomes available.

CAUSE
An incorrect 2017 emissions label was installed in the vehicle.

CORRECTION
Replace the current label with the correct 2018 emissions label.

PROCEDURE
For all affected vehicles:

2. Verify the incorrect MY 2017 emissions label is installed
3. Remove label and clean glue residue from surface area with
an approved cleaner
4. Adhere correct MY 2018 emissions label

Please be reminded that it is a violation of Federal law for you to sell, lease or deliver
any vehicle covered by this notification until the delivery stop repair has been
performed. This means that centers may not legally deliver new motor vehicles to a
consumer until it is fixed or use/sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a delivery
stop. Note also that substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law.
Also, you should not sell, lease or deliver any Certified Pre-Owned or used vehicles
subject to a delivery stop until the repair is completed.
