Complaint:
When braking, squeaking noises from the front axle are heard just before the vehicle comes to a stop.
Cause:
Interaction between brake lining backplate and brake lining guide of brake carrier (push/pull dimension).
Remedy:
Check whether there is sufficient clearance between the brake lining backplate and the brake lining guide of the brake

carrier:

1) Position screwdriver at lowest point of brake lining backplate (see attachment: "Screwdriver application point")

2) Press brake lining upwards

3) Measure distance between brake lining backplate (top side) and brake carrier (using feeler gauge) (see attachment: "Checking push/pull dimension")

If the distance is not between 0.6 and 1.1 mm, replace the following components of the front axle as per EPC:

- Brake carrier

- Brake linings

Then again check whether the push/pull dimension is within the tolerance range.

If it varies, create a TIPS case.
