2. Spray BRP HEAVY DUTY CLEANER (P/N 293 110
001) in a clean cloth and wipe down the tandem
master cylinder manifold inlet (the edges and
base of the manifold inlet must be free of dirt,
lubricant etc.).
3. Slide the exposed sticky side on the inside of
the tandem master cylinder manifold inlet making sure the bottom edge is lined up with the
bottom of the manifold inlet.

7. Insert the heat deflector [P1]; make sure the

2. Peel off approximately 25.4 mm (1 in) of the
back paper of the reflective heat shield [P4].

procedure of Service Bulletin 2013-9.

Dear Can-Am Roadster Owner,
This notice is being sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor
Vehicle Safety Act and the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Bombardier Recreational Products Inc.
and BRP US Inc. (“BRP“) have decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on
certain roadster models and are conducting a safety recall.
Our records show that you own a potentially affected vehicle.
What is the potential problem?
Under some riding conditions, the tandem master cylinder manifold inlet may melt and cause brake fluid
dripping onto a heat source which may lead to a vehicle fire.
Which models are involved?
Can-Am Spyder ST™ series and RT™ series roadsters, model year 2013.
What should you do?
Call an authorized BRP Can-Am Roadster dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle
repaired. The solution is the installation of reflecting heat shields and heat deflector. This repair should
take approximately 1 hour to complete. The dealer will perform this work at no charge to you. If you had
this repair before you receive this letter, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for the cost of
obtaining a pre-notification remedy of the problem associated with this recall.
