***** Detailed Information *****
Nissan is conducting a dealer inventory quality action to inspect the routing of the fuel tank
breather tube on approximately 4,288 specific MY2016-17 Titan XD (A61D) vehicles.
During vehicle assembly, certain plant operator technicians may not have removed the
temporary fuel tank breather tube cap, and may not have correctly affixed the tube to the
bed rail. No parts are required for this inspection.
***** What Dealers Should Do *****
1. Verify if vehicles currently in new dealer inventory are affected by this quality action
using Service Comm or DBS National Service History – Open Campaign I.D. PC594
 New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DCS
(Sales-> Vehicle Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign).
i. Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information
 Please continue to check newly arriving inventory for campaign
applicability.
2. Use the attached procedure to inspect the vehicle.
 If the fuel tank breather tube is routed correctly, file a claim for the
inspection.
 If the fuel tank breather tube is not routed correctly, provide the
requested information in an email to nnafqasupport@nissan-usa.com and
await further instruction. Instructions and claims information will be
provided within 48 hours.
3. Dealers are requested to inspect any affected vehicle in dealer new or pre-owned
inventory to ensure customer satisfaction.

PC594 – TITAN (A61) DIESEL FUEL
TANK BREATHER TUBE

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Place the vehicle on a suitable lift and
raise the vehicle to gain access to the
underside of the truck.

2. Locate the fuel tank breather tube and
where it is fitted into the bed rail
(Figure 1).


From the center of the vehicle, look
up toward the rear of the truck,
between the parking brake cables.

3. Inspect for the fuel tank breather tube
and determine if it is present and
properly secured to the bed rail.


Figure 2 shows the breather tube
properly installed to the bed rail.



Figure 3 shows the breather tube
present, but not installed in the bed
rail.



Figure 4 shows the breather tube is
not present and may be found on
the top of the fuel tank.

4. Is the fuel tank breather tube present and properly installed in the bed rail as
shown in Figure 2?


If YES, then lower the vehicle and remove it from the lift, submit a warranty
claim using Op Code PC5940 (see claims info), and release the vehicle.



If NO, then continue to HOLD the vehicle. Do not submit warranty claim.
E-mail clear pictures of the bed rail area, as shown in Figures 3 or 4, showing a
loose or missing fuel tank breather tube to:
