NOTE
Procedure for optional overhead compartment radio replacement is similar. However, interface harness
part #061010 and connector part #563962 are not necessary.

PROCEDURE

DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition
switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button.
Use personal protection equipment required (PPE).
REMOVING RADIO
1. Radio is normally located on the right side of
the dashboard.

2. Remove dashboard cover to get access to
wires and back side of the radio. Remove
M4-0.7 x 20 screws (5) that fix the cover to
the dashboard.

3. Unplug all connectors on the back side of
VSS module to allow easier access to the
back side of the radio. Use a small flat
screwdriver to help unlock connectors.

4. Unplug all connectors and connections on the
back side of the old radio.

5. Remove hexagonal nut that fixes the radio to
the dashboard support.

6. Insert two U-shaped radio extractor pins in
the four (4) holes located on both sides of the
radio front panel and pull it out .

NOTE: Some models may need to use flat end
radio extraction keys.

INSTALLATION OF THE NEW RADIO
7. Plug existing radio connectors to interface
wiring cable (part #61010) included in the
installation kit. All connectors have one
possibility of matching together. You have no
chance of misconnection.
NOTE: Part # 563962 is used as a protection cap
on connector C_LINE OUT only in case of no
individal listenning.

8. Insert the new radio into its housing and install
the hexagonal screw on the back side of the
radio to fix it to the dashboard support.

9. Plug interface wiring cable connectors (part #
061010) and antenna to the new radio.

10. Plug all VSS connectors to the module.

11. Check if the radio is correclty fixed to the dashbord and check if all the connections are fermly
connected. If nessecary, use nylon tie to fix new wires to existing cables or dashboard support.
12. Radio external audio inputs, USB and auxiliary ports, are now located in front of the new radio.
Therefore, radio external audio inputs, USB and auxiliary port located inside the dashboard lower
drawer are no longer supported.

13. To avoid mismatch between vehicle and VDA Center, it is important to remove all software
componants from the VDA Center. Follow steps 14 to 23 for vehicles prior OBD or follow steps 24
to 37 for OBD vehicles.

Removing MID 206 in PTT for vehicles prior OBD

14. Connect to Premium Tech Tool (PTT) with a
good internet connection. It is not nessecary
to connect the vehicle.

15. Select Product tab and then Manual Selection
menu. PTT opens the Manuel Selection dialog
box .

16. Write the Chassis ID number of the vehicle
into the right box. Press OK button. PTT
opens the ‘’Work order number’’ dialog box .

17. Write work order number into the right box.
Press Start Work button.

18. Select Program tab and select “Accessory Kit”
operation.

19. Press Start button then OK button.

20. Press on Play icon to run Accessory kit #
85151635 and write the number into the right
box.

21. Follow the instructions for the rest of the procedure.

22. Check if radio operates well; check all driver and passenger speakers.

23. The Bulletin is complete.

Removing MID 206 in PTT for OBD vehicles
Apply to following vehicles:

24. Connect to Premium Tech Tool (PTT) with a

to connect the vehicle.

25. Select Product tab and then Manual Selection

26. Write Chassis ID number of the vehicle into
the right box. Press OK button. PTT opens the
‘’Work order number’’ dialog box.

28. Press Tech Tool drop-down menu and then
select Manage Software New… menu.

29. Select “Order software” tab, check if the
system shows the right Chassis ID and press
Search button.

30. Check if Radio (MID 206) code is in the list
that PTT shows on the screen.

31. Select “Accessory Kit” tab and write
Accessory kit # 85151631 into the right box.
32. Press ‘’Send Order’’ button. PTT opens the
Confirmation dialog box.

33. Press NO button if no more operations are
necessary.

34. Press Search button to refresh the screen and
check if Radio (MID 206) has been removed
from the control unit list.
