PROCEDURE
DANGER
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. Prior to working on the vehicle, set the ignition
switch to the OFF position and trip the main circuit breakers equipped with a trip button. On Commuter
type vehicles, set the battery master switch (master cut-out) to the OFF position.
1. Locate this support (arrow, fig. 1)
along the top charge air cooler line in
the engine compartment.

2. Remove the outer nut and washer.
Discard hardware.

3. Cut the support rod at indicated
location in Figure 4
CAUTION:
Be careful not to cut into the CAC pipe.
Remove sharp edges on the support rod
with a file.

4. Remove the inner nut, washer and
rubber damper. Discard hardware.

6. Install sleeve #032540 in the lower
hole of the new rubber damper
#050009.
7. Assemble in saddle #050012 with
screw #5001499, nut #502837.
Do not tighten yet.
Align saddle and rubber damper on
an easily accessible section of CAC
pipe.
Proceed to final tightening while
holding parts.
Torque to 16lbf-ft
Check alignment after tightening.
8. Install two new sleeves #032540 on
existing bracket studs.

9. Slide assembled saddle and damper
in place on CAC pipe and bracket.

10. Place plate #053026 over the support
studs.

11. Install nuts #502837.
Tighten to 16 lb-ft.
Add torque seal mark to all bolts.

12. Install the two tube clamps #504580
as shown. Collar drive screw should
be horizontal to allow easy access.
Tighten to 8 lb-ft.
Add torque seal mark to both clamps.
