Software update for your joysteer system

Dear joysteer Customer,
As the manufacturer of joysteer systems and on behalf of your joysteer dealer we herewith
inform you that your system must receive a software update within the next 10 months
(before April 1st 2018). During that time, you can continue to drive with joysteer as usual and
without any restrictions.
Your joysteer system is equipped with a “Dynamic Force-Feedback” function. As has been
observed during recent tests, in the highly unlikely but possible situation that this function fails
while you are driving, this could under certain conditions lead to the “oversteering” of your car
and create a potentially critical situation.
Although such a situation has never happened to any of our customers around the world during
the 8 years that our joysteer system has been available, Bozzio has developed and introduced a
software release that will avoid such a situation. This new software has been tested and is fully
certified by the German road authorities.
An additional benefit of this new software is that, at higher car speeds, your steering will
become less dynamic, making your car even easier and more relaxing to drive.
Because this new software release is safety-relevant, it is necessary to update the joysteer
system in your car within a certain timeframe. Ideally you can combine this update with your
next annual service/parameter check-up, as required by our maintenance manual. The check-up
should include a test drive with your instructor if the driving parameters of your system need to
be adjusted. But this software update and test drive(s) must take place before April 1st 2018.
We ask you to contact your joysteer dealer and make an appointment to implement the update
of your system at your earliest convenience. This service (including the test drive) is estimated
to take on average half a day (4 hours).
