BACKGROUND
This service bulletin provides additional information for the “Sliding Door Position Adjustment” procedure in the service
information.
PROCEDURE
Adjustment Order
To make sure the sliding door is properly adjusted, follow these steps:
NOTE: The service information shows a different order.
1. Adjust the front and rear striker.
2. Do the rear part of the door’s vertical and horizontal adjustment.
3. Do the front part of the door’s vertical adjustment.
4. Do the front part of the door’s horizontal adjustment.
5. Adjust the front and rear striker a second time after adjustment.
Vehicle Setup
Do these steps before starting the adjustment procedure.
1. Trim levels with power sliding doors only: Remove the No.18 BACKUP (10A) fuse in the under-hood fuse box. This
will shut down the power to the power sliding door control unit, and will disable the latch mechanism when the door
is closed.

2. Remove the sliding door guide pin for the sliding door you are working on. Refer to “Sliding Door Guide Pin
Removal and Installation” in the service information.
NOTE: The upper and lower guide pins may appear identical but are different. Mark the guide pins to identify their
original position as well as the direction they are facing. Apply tape on the pins, and mark “T” for top, “B” for bottom,
and “O” for outside.

3. Tape a cloth or protective cover to the vehicle as shown, to prevent damage while adjusting the door.

Adjusting The Door
1. Manually open and slide the door towards the closed position. Stop the door right before the latch comes in contact
with the front striker.
2. Inspect the position of the front striker in relation to the front latch to make sure the striker is centered with the latch
opening. If not, adjust the striker as needed. Refer to the service information.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the rear striker.
4. Place a vehicle jack, a rubber block, and shop towels under the edge of the sliding door to support it while making
adjustments.

5. Do the “Vertical and Horizontal Adjustment at Rear”.
5.1. Loosen the two adjustment pins with a Torx socket.
NOTE: Turn the pins counter-clockwise two to three turns. Do not exceed this or remove the pins.

5.2. Loosen the center roller bolts until the bracket can move freely.
5.3. With the help of an assistant, adjust the back end of the sliding door up/down and forward/backwards as
needed. Then, tighten the center roller bolts.

NOTE: When adjusting the sliding door towards the back, move and secure it in small increments while
watching the clearance between the rear latch bolts and the doorjamb. Excessively adjusting the sliding door
at one time may cause damage due to the rear latch bolts and the doorjamb contacting. Put tape on the
doorjamb area to prevent damage.

5.4 If necessary, adjust the door cushion to make the door fits flush with the body.
5.5 Once the sliding door is adjusted, tighten the center roller bolts to the specified torque and tighten the
adjustment pins.
6. Do the “Vertical Adjustment, Front”. Refer to the service information.
6.1 Remove the sliding door panel for the sliding door you are working on. Refer to “Sliding Door Panel Removal
and Installation” in the service information.
7. Do the “Horizontal Adjustment, Front”. Refer to the service information.
8. Inspect and adjust the front and rear striker a second time if necessary.
9. Install the sliding door guide pins. Refer to “Sliding Door Guide Pin Removal and Installation” in the service
information.
10. Install the sliding door panel. Refer to “Sliding Door Panel Removal and Installation” in the service information.
11. Install the No.18 BACKUP (10A) fuse to the under-hood fuse box.
12. Open and close the door a couple of times, to ensure it operates correctly and the door alignment is good.
