Information:

Due to a manufacturing problem, there is a possibility that the wheel alignment on the front and
rear axle was not carried out correctly and the threaded connections on all toe, camber and
caster threaded joints were not tightened to the specified tightening torque on the affected
vehicles.

Action
Required:

Perform suspension alignment and adjust the vehicle if necessary.
In particular, tighten the threaded connections on all toe, camber and caster joints to the specified
tightening torques.

vehicle. This campaign is scope specific to the VIN! Failure to verify in PIWIS may result in an improper

Attachment "A": Work Procedure

Perform suspension alignment as described in  Workshop Manual '449503 Suspension
alignment, complete' and adjust the vehicle if necessary.
During suspension alignment, current adjustment values and adjustment values assigned to the
relevant vehicle type must always be used, see  Workshop Manual '4495TW Adjustment values
for suspension alignment'.
Information
If suspension alignment work is subcontracted to a service provider, it is important to ensure
that the service provider is provided with the correct adjustment values or that these adjustment
values are supplied in writing with the vehicle.
Following suspension alignment, tighten the threaded connections on all toe, camber and
caster threaded joints to the specified tightening torques.

If the existing wheel alignment values were changed, calibrate the steering-angle sensor 
Workshop Manual '456005 Initialising and calibrating steering-angle sensor'.

Attachment "B": Claim Submission - Stop Sale/Recall Campaign AF04
Warranty claims should be submitted via WWS/PQIS.
Open campaigns may be checked by using either the PIWIS Vehicle Information system or through PQIS
Job Creation.
Labor, parts, and sublet will be automatically inserted when Technician is selected in WWS/PQIS. If
necessary, the required part numbers will need to be manually entered into warranty system by the dealer
administrator.
Information
The specified working time was determined specifically for carrying out this campaign and includes
all preliminary and subsequent work required for performing suspension alignment and adjusting the
vehicle.
The working time may differ from the working times published in the Labor Operation List in PIWIS.
