Use Allison DOC® to determine the existing Calibration Identification Number (CIN) in the TCM. The first 4
characters of the CIN define the software level. If the software level is earlier than BCD152, proceed with the
software update. Using Allison TCM ReflashTM, enter the TCM Serial Number into the 5th Generation Controls
database to update the software.
Warranty Information:
Allison Service Outlets shall submit an AWAARE Claim Type 1 along with a Technical Assistance Center (TAC)
Case Number on each vehicle updated to resolve this issue.
Claim any work separately even if performed simultaneously with another transmission
repair, such as an overhaul
or solenoid replacement.
The vehicle must be in the warranty period to have the TCM software update considered for warranty.
Claim Submittal Information:
A TAC Case Number and Special Activity Indicator PTODROP shall be used when submitting an AWAARE claim
for a TCM software update to resolve this issue.
