Introduction
In some instances, Camry vehicles equipped with the SET Remote Start may exhibit a
condition where the engine will not crank. This condition may be due to an open 7.5A
AM1 fuse. The below procedure will verify the concern and repair the vehicle by
replacing the Remote Start Harness, Control Module, and Software Card.

Port Installed Option (PIO) ‐ is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles from the vehicle’s in‐service date, whichever
occurs first. Unless otherwise specified in vehicle VIN inquiry.
Dealer Installed Option (DIO) ‐ is in effect for 12 months, regardless of mileage, from the date the part(s) was
installed on the vehicle or the remainder of any applicable New Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever provides greater
coverage.
Over the Counter Sale (OCS) ‐ is in effect for 12 months, regardless of mileage, from the date the part(s) were sold.
Labor is not warranted for over‐the counter service part replacements.

Inspection:
1. Perform a TIS VIN inquiry to verify Vehicle has SET Accessory remote engine start.



Port Installed Accessories are identified by QR10 or RS1000 in the
Vehicle Info Tab
Dealer installed Accessories are identified with the kit part number
(00016-32038 or 00016-32031) appear in service history.



This TSB does not apply if vehicle does not have SET accessory.

2. Check the 7.5A AM1 Fuse in the interior fuse panel.


If the fuse is not opened, TSB DOES NOT
apply.



If fuse is opened, refer to the installation
manual on TIS and replace the remote start
wiring harness, main control module, and
removable software card.

Repair Procedure:
1. Refer to the kit installation manual on TIS for replacement of the remote engine start
harness (SET Part Number 00016-32031-99), Main control Module (P/N 00016-3403507), and software card (00016-34035-08)

SET Remote Engine Start open AM1 fuse
NOTE: Exercise care when servicing any wires with black t-taps connected. These wires
are fragile and may break. Wiring repair labor due to damage caused during the repair is
not covered under warranty.
2. Refer to SET-TSB-15-006 to reprogram transmitters to the new control module. Damage
caused during the repair is not covered under warranty.
3. Refer to the SET Remote Start System installation manual on TIS for tachometer
programming instructions.
NOTE: Replacement or Programming of the immobilizer interface module is not required
for this repair.

4. Verify the vehicle starts correctly with the vehicles key.
Verify proper operation of the Remote Engine Start System:
1. Close the driver’s door.
2. Activate the remote start function by pressing the
button 2 times within 3 seconds
on the 2-way remote control transmitter. The transmitter should beep and flash the led
one time.
3. Once the vehicle starts, the transmitter should beep (2) times and flash the led (2) times
and then flash every few seconds, signifying that the vehicle is still running. Verify that
all heat and A/C functions operate normally and that the doors have locked.

4. Once all systems have been checked, pressing the
control transmitter, the transmitter should beep (2) times and flash the led (2) times and
the doors should unlock.

5. Verify that the vehicle runs for (15) minutes and then shuts down. The doors should lock
and the transmitter should beeps (3) times and flash the led (3) times.
6. Function test all of the Remote Start System’s safety inputs according to the “Testing the
Remote Start System” section of the respective installation manual for that vehicle on
TIS.
