Reason for this Service Action
A quantity of V12 Vantage S and GT12 vehicles have been released from the factory that do not have the link harness
installed for the brake pedal sensor. This fault can have an unwanted effect on a number of systems – for example, the
Adaptive Damping System (ADS), the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, the Traction Control (TC) system, and the
Engine Management Control Module (ECM) – and can cause a number of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to display on
AMDS. Please refer to the separately published list of VINs and do the Workshop Procedure that follows to all of the
vehicles in the list to install the link harness.

Workshop Procedure
Note:
1.

You must do the steps that follow one after the other. If you do not work in the sequence that follows, you
can cause more DTCs to display. You can also cause a change to the calibration of the brake pedal sensor.

Remove the insulating tape that attaches the large
white connector to the cabin harness (refer to
Figure 1).

Note:

Access is limited. Carefully pull the cabin harness down as necessary to remove the tape. If necessary, pull
the stud-mounted tie wrap off the weld stud to release the cabin harness.

Get access to the ground stud shown on the bulkhead.
On RHD vehicles:
• Carefully lift the flap of NVH material from the
bulkhead to the left (refer to Figure 2) of the
pedal box.

On LHD vehicles:
• Carefully lift the flap of NVH material from the
bulkhead to the right (refer to Figure 3) of the
pedal box.

3.

Install the ring/eyelet terminal of the link harness black
wire to the ground stud on the bulkhead. Align the
terminal’s crimp barrel vertically above the stud (refer
to Figure 4). Make a loop of the link harness black
wire along the cabin harness.

Install an M6 Nyloc nut to attach the terminal correctly.

CAUTION:

MAKE SURE THAT NONE OF THE NVH MATERIAL IS CAUGHT UNDER THE RING/EYELET
TERMINAL OR THE NUT.

5.

Use insulating tape to attach the loop of black wire to the cabin harness (refer to Figure 4).

6.

Put the NVH material back into position.

7.

Disconnect the electrical connector of the brake pedal sensor assembly.

8.

Connect the large electrical connector of the link harness to the white electrical connector of the cabin harness.

9.

Connect the small electrical connector of the link harness to the brake pedal sensor assembly.

10.

Use insulating tape to attach the disconnected brake
pedal sensor assembly electrical connector to the
cabin harness (refer to Figure 5).

11.

Do Workshop Manual procedure 00.06.AD AMDS Operation Check (Check). Erase any relevant Diagnostic
Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Note:

The new-type brake pedal sensor will self-calibrate constantly during usual operation of the vehicle.
