Situation: A 'rattle' noise may be heard from the B-pillar area.

NOTE: an allowance of $56.35 per vehicle, has been allocated for locally sourcing paint and
materials; claim using ZZZ00l.
Cause: This may be caused an incorrect specification within the B-pillar inner panels.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

NOTE: make sure a locally sourced zinc-rich primer is applied to any bare metal surfaces.

NOTE: repeat this procedure on both sides of the vehicle.
1Move the front left and right seats to the most forward position.
2Remove the B-pillar upper trim panel (see TOPix Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and
Ornamentation - B-Pillar Upper Trim Panel).
3Make sure the seatbelt is moved to the middle
position to allow access to the seatbelt upper
adjuster bolts.

SRelease the seatbelt from the B-pillar.

CAUTION: failure to install these bolts
will cause damage to the vehicle.

NOTE: make sure the bolts are finger
tight.
Install the seatbelt upper adjuster bolts.

single panel thickness.

cAUTION: use suitable welding
blankets to protect the vehicle from any
damage.
Using a suitable 10mm drill, drill out the seven
spot welds.

cAUTION: the seatbelt upper bolts must
be moved towards the rear of the vehicle.

Move the seatbelt upper adjuster bolts towards
the rear of the vehicle and finger tighten the
bolts to secure the seatbelt upper adjuster
bracket in place for welding.

CAUTION: use suitable welding blankets
to protect the vehicle from any damage.
Metal Inert Gas (MIG) weld the seven spotweld
drilled holes to weld the seatbelt upper adjuster
bracket in place.

• Install the two upper seatbelt fasteners.
• Torque: 40 Nm
