This is to revise and replace Campaign 1517-B, dated 08-Aug-2014. This revision is to:

Description
This Campaign is being issued to address ISX/QSX 15L upper rod bearings shells susceptible
to material delamination. This Campaign authorizes the replacement of all upper and lower rod
bearing shells.
NOTE: This Campaign is retroactive and covers repairs from 17-Oct-2013. Overtime has
been authorized to complete this Campaign work. Overtime premiums are reimbursed at
the premium paid to the technician for working overtime. Overtime is allowed, as
needed, for field or in-shop repairs. Please refer to the Warranty Administration Manual
for claims filing instructions for overtime.

Action
In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:
1. will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2. must be on the attached ESN list.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
1. Replace all upper and lower rod bearing shells. Please reference Service Procedure 001005 Bearing, Connecting Rod within the appropriate Service Manual.
2. Label all bearings with the cylinder number as they are removed. Please reference the
Remove section of Service Procedure 001-005 for labeling information.
3. Record all bearing information on the form in Attachment B of this Campaign.

NOTE: SRT 00-139 has been provided for recording the upper rod bearing information
on the Attachment B worksheet, and returning the completed worksheet via e-mail or
fax to the contact information provided.
NOTE: Disregard the Lube Pump Removal reference in the preparatory steps section of
the Service Procedure 001-005. Removal of the Lube Pump is not necessary to complete
this Campaign work.
NOTE: Overtime has been authorized as needed to complete this Campaign work.
