THIS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN DESCRIBES THE VERIFICATION AND RESOLUTION OF FAULT CODE 2222 CAUSED BY THE ABSENCE OF THE REQUIRED FUEL TANK LEVEL INPUT MULTIPLEXED TO THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM). THIS IS A REVISION TO A PREVIOUS COMMUNICATION.

Issue
A population of 2013 Cummins
CM2350 engines do not have the required fuel tank level input
multiplexed to the engine control module (ECM). When calibrating the ECM using the latest
calibration revision on QuickServe™ Online or the August 2013 INCAL™ disc (or later), the
engine will be enabled with circuit diagnostics that will detect a missing fuel level sensor if this
input was not programmed previously.
Verification
If calibrating a 2013 CM2350 engine with the above mentioned INCAL™ discs, or later, Fault
Code 2222 will log if the fuel tank level is not properly multiplexed.
Resolution
While connected through INSITE™ electronic service tool, go into the Features and
Parameters function, under SAE J1939 Multiplexing, and manually set the fuel level sensor to
"Enable" and set the Source Code address per the original equipment manufacturer (OEM)
recommended guidelines.
