Service Campaign: LNG Fill Receptacle Replacement

1. Introduction
Some LNG system fill receptacles (Macro Fueling Receptacle model 13620) are leaking fuel when
the fill nozzle is disconnected. This is caused by a non-functioning check assembly inside the
receptacle.

DANGER

Personnel working with LNG fuel systems should always wear appropriate personal
protective equipment (PPE) to prevent burns/frostbite caused by cold liquid or
vapor, see Figure 1.
Agility Fuel Systems recommends the removal and replacement of all LNG fill receptacles within
date codes MH13, MJ13, MK13 and ML13.

2. Affected Units
This procedure applies to LNG Agility Fuel Systems equipped with MacroTechnologies, LLC model
13620 fill receptacles with date codes MH13, MJ13, MK13 and ML13. See Figure 2 and Table 1.

a. One (1) Replacement fill receptacle, Agility Fuel Systems part number 10240410
b. Two (2) Flaretite seals, 3/4-in., Agility Fuel Systems part number 10240579

4. Procedure
CAUTION
When replacing the fill receptacle, make sure the receptacle and fill components are
at ambient temperature. Do not replace a fill receptacle immediately after filling, or
while frost is apparent on the receptacle and nearby components. Defrost
components with a low volume water stream such as a garden hose. Then dry all
parts with shop air. This will help prevent moisture from entering the system. The
procedure must take place in a dry and well lit environment.
1. Remove the grill cover.
2. Loosen both flare nuts on the fill tube a half-turn each and wiggle the fill tube by hand to
loosen it from the flare. You should hear pressure escaping from the tubing. The pressure
should bleed down to 0 psi within about a minute or less. See Figures 3 and 4.

Note: It may be necessary to remove the nylon vent tube for easier access to the fill
tube retainer nut.

CAUTION
If pressure does not bleed to 0 psi and continues to escape, the fill check valve may
need to be replaced. If the fill check valve needs to be replaced, the tank must be
completely de-fueled and vented to 0 psi before removing the check valve.
3. Remove the fill receptacle, see Figure 5. Save the fasteners and protective cap for re-use.

Completely loosen and remove the fill tube.
Remove the receptacle from the tank shroud.
Clamp the fill receptacle into a vise along the flats on the receptacle, see Figure 6.
Use a 1-1/16-in. wrench to loosen and remove the elbow. Remove the receptacle from the
vise and tag it with the vehicle information and Claim Reference Number (CRN). See
Section 5, Warranty Information.

8. Remove all thread sealants on the elbow with a wire brush as shown in Figure 7.
9. Apply three wraps of thread sealant (tape) to the elbow threads, making sure the tape does
not contaminate the fitting.
10. Install the elbow into the receptacle. The elbow should have its flared outlet facing directly
toward one of the receptacle mounting bolt holes as shown in Figure 8.
11. Next, install the Flaretite seal onto the flared end of the elbow.
12. Install the receptacle and elbow on the tank, making sure the elbow points downward as
shown in Figure 9.
13. Attach the fill tube to the elbow and thread the Flaretite seal hand tight.

14. Thread the other end of the fill tube nut onto the receptacle elbow hand tight.
15. Make sure the tubes are seated properly and tighten both ends of the fill tube.
16. Install the fill receptacle mounting bolts and nuts. Tighten all three alternately until tight. Do
not forget to install the fill cap lanyard retainer clip to the bottom bolt.
17. Re-install the nylon vent tube and hand tighten the retainer nut onto the elbow.

18. Install the protective cap onto the new receptacle.
19. Reinstall the grill cover using the four bolts and tighten using a 13 mm wrench or socket.

5. Warranty Information
1. This procedure is covered under warranty. Return the defective receptacles using the CRN
procedure in the Warranty Manual, ENP-067, Section 3.6:
a. All removed components must be identified with the CRN.
b. The servicing dealer will have 15 days to return the defective part to Agility. The
package and label containing the returned part(s) must be clearly marked with the
CRN. Return parts may be shipped UPS collect to:

c. If requested parts are not returned to Agility per the above listed guidelines, the
dealer will be charged back for all parts contained within each claim or shipped to
the dealer by Agility.
