Summary
THIS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN DESCRIBES THE TROUBLE SHOOTING AND REPAIR STEPS TO ADDRESS LUBRICATING OIL PRESSURE AND LOW IDLE AND FAULT CODE 143 IN CERTAIN ENGINES DUE TO THE SMALL DIAMETER OF A REMOTE MOUNTED LUBRICATING OIL FILTER HEAD SUPPLY LINE. THIS CONDITION IS ADDRESSED BY REPLACING THE SUPPLY LINE, ASSOCIATED FITTINGS AND MATING COMPONENTS.

Remote mounted lubricating oil filter head supply line diameter is too small
Verification
Engine is equipped with a remote mounted lubricating oil filter head
And
Low lubricating oil pressure at idle or Fault Code 143
Resolution
To increase lubricating oil pressure at engine idle, the internal diameter of the lubricating oil
supply line, associated fittings, and mating components was increased. Cummins Inc.
recommends the replacement of existing components with the new components listed below in
Table 1.
Service Instructions
The new lubricating oil supply line requires an increase in torque for assembly and is reflected
in the updated service procedure. See Publications Affected section below.
