WINDSHIELD COWL, BLOWER MOTOR AND/OR
RESISTOR REPLACEMENT

This bulletin provides the procedure for replacement of the windshield cowl, blower motor and/or
resistor of some 2015~2016MY Sedona (YP) vehicles, produced from Job #1 through June 16,
2015, which may exhibit a slow or inoperative blower motor as a result of freezing up due to
intrusion of snow/ice into the HVAC ducting. To correct this concern, replace the cowling and, if
necessary, the blower motor and/or resistor, by referring to the information included in this
service bulletin.

Service Procedure:
1.

Operate the blower motor, at all
different speeds, to verify the
customer’s concern. If blower motor
or resistor malfunction is confirmed,
proceed to the next step. If blower
motor operation is normal, but the
customer reported abnormal blower
motor operation in freezing weather
conditions, proceed to step 10 to
replace the windshield cowl.

2.

Record the customer’s radio presets
and disconnect the Negative (-)
terminal from the battery.

3.

Remove the hardware securing the
crash pad under cover (A) (located
under the glove box).

Disconnect
the
blower
motor
connector (B) and remove three (3)
screws (C) from the blower motor.

Remove the resistor connector (D)
and remove two (2) screws (E)
securing the resistor in place.

Replace the blower motor and the
resistor.

7.

Reinstall all removed components by
reversing the order of removal and
reconnect the Negative (-) battery
terminal.

8.

Restore the customer’s presets as
recorded in step 2.

9.

Confirm
proper
operation
at
speeds/settings.

10.

Once the blower motor and/or resistor
replacement operation is complete,
replace the cowl top cover with an
improved one by referring to “Body
(Interior and Exterior) → Cowl Top
Cover → Repair procedures” in the
applicable Workshop Manual.

11.

Verify proper wiper operation and
proper wiper parking location, when at
rest.
