Reason for block
Complaint:

Customer experiences low battery conditions, resulting in jump starts, and eventually requiring battery replacement.
Cause:

PASS (mbrace) is programmed to update its Preferred Roaming List (PRL) every 90 days. If the unit is deactivated,

the update is not possible.

If a Diagnostic Service (ex: Quicktest) is performed on a vehicle with a deactivated PASS unit, the PASS unit will start

attempting to update, even though no network is detected. PASS will keep the CAN Bus awake, and in time will drain

the battery.

Preconditions:

1. Must be equipped with PASS

2. IMX software level in mbrace will be 2319028401 (see attachment)

3. Vehicle must be at least 90 days old

4. Mbrace must be deactivated in any of the following scenarios:

· Customer did not purchase mbrace at point of sale

· Cancel of mbrace subscription at any time

· Free trial expires

5. A Diagnostic Service (ex: Quickies!) is performed on a vehicle with a PASS unit with the above preconditions met

Remedy:

Update the mbrace control unit software. The IMX software in the mbrace control unit (see attachment) should change

to either

2319023902

or

2319027002

If Xentry does not specify newer software, please create an SDS User Help Desk case via PTSS, and include the following:

-Event log (initial startup)

-mbrace control unit log
