Wind noise and or water leak from door or rear drop glass I cantrail seal area. (Right or left hand side

of car)
Technical background

The cantrail seal may not have been correctly fitted during manufacture

An improved fitting process has been adopted
Measure

In the event of a concern relating to wind noise or water leak in the vicinity of the cantrail seal on New

Continental GT then incorporate the following checks into your investigation ensuring the cantrail seal

(C) is fitted correctly

The cantrail seal (C) forms the landing face for the vehicles side drop glass (see Figure 1). If this

seal is not fitted correctly a gap can be produced where the glass interfaces with the seal resulting in

wind noise and possible water ingress .

When fitting the seal ensure the head of the fasteners securing the roof brightware to the body are

located in area (A) of the seal and that the ridge on the seal (B) is positioned between the inside edge

of the fasteners and the inner edge of the roof brightware . When this is not the case the seal can be

seen to deflect down where point B of the seal sits on top of the fastener, running a thumb along the

seal edge will identify the high spot created in the seal by incorrect seal fitment.
Note: The head of the fasteners can be felt through the seal when the seal is correctly fitted but when

correctly fitted the seal profile is not changed at the location of each fastener
