Adaptive Frontlighting System

AFS

Enab les driver to see fm1her around curves at night by predicting road shape from
steering inputs and vehicle speed, and directing lamps in direction of travel.

BSM

Detects vehi c les in the blind spot on ei ther side or approaching from behind and alerts
the driver to potenti a l risks. Works at speeds of 6.2 mph (I 0 km/h) or higher. Does not
work in reverse.

RCTA

Rear Cross Traffic A let1 detects and informs driver of any vehi c le approaching from
side wh ile driver is reversing out of parking space.

FOW

Detects obstructions (e.g., veh icles) ahead of car and warns driver of a possible co llision. The system is on ly des igned to reduce damage in the event of a collision. Works
at speeds of9.3 mph (15 km/h) or hi gher. Does not work in reverse.

High-Beam
Control System*

HBC

Detects oncom ing traffic and vehicles in fro nt; and , automatica ll y switches headlights
between high and low beam, improv ing visibility at night and a iding hazard avoidance.
Works at speeds of 19 mph (30 km/h) or higher. The system wi ll switch to low beam at
12 mph (20 km/ h) or lower.

Lane Departure

LOWS

G ives audibl e and visual wa rnings when driver is about to unintentionally depa11 from
lane at speeds of 40 mph (65 km/h) or higher.

Mazda Radar

MRCC

Judges the relative speed and distance to the car ahead, and wo rks w ithin a set speed
range to maintain a safe fo llowing di stance. The system works approx imate ly between
20 mph (33 km/ h) and 90 mph (144lan/h). The system w ill ca ncel at 16 mph (25 km/h)
or lower.

Smart C ity
Brake Support

SCBS

Automatica lly stops or reduces the car 's speed when there is a risk of collision with
the vehic le in front w hile travelling at speeds between 2 mph (4 Ian/h) and 19 mph (30
laTlih), helping the dri ver to avoid or reduce the severity of a crash.
