Bentley Motors has devised a Software Versbn Management (SVM) update whK:h eliminates the possib ility of a customer ex periencing issu es relating t o
the ex terb r door m irror power fok:J/ unfok:J operatbn.
The containment measure with in the SVM update reduces mirror motor cut off time whK:h prevents the door mirrors stdin g and jolting sporadK:a ly
during the power fok:J/ unfok::l operat b n.
The SVM update also prevents the possib nity of a separate mirror related issue from occurring, the issue concerned can occur when the ' Fo k:! mirrors'
functbn is selected to be On within t he MM! as shown in Fgure 1. Seecting this fun ctb n albws the mirrors to be power fok::l ed when the v eh K:le is
bcked .

This Campagn must be carried out on all Mulsanne cars within the affected VIN range to ensu re the cars prb r to the VIN cu t off are an at the sam e
software level

Customers do not need to be informed directty of this campagn. Please ensure that all affected vehK:les are repaired during a serv K:e visit. Yo u shouk::l
also inform your new and used car sales departments so that the vehK:les affected can have this Campagn applied immediatety (and not j ust before

NOTE: The conditbn of the vehtle batteries must be checked before carrying out any work stated within thfi document. DO NOT carry out th is
procedure unless the batteries are in a hea~hy state - Refer to Maintenance manuals - Batteries to Test
Before commencing with this procedure ensure you can connect to the Internet. DO NOT use a wireless Internet connectbn always use a suitable
Internet cable

IMPORTANT: Please use Offboard Diagnostt Informatbn System Servte when carrying out this procedure as detailed with in th e onward
instructbns

1. Ensure a suitable battery charger (VAS 5903 or a charger with the same specificatbn) ii correctly connected to the vehtle electrtal system for the
duratbn of this procedure - Refer to wo rkshop manual Rep.Gr 27 - Batteries to charge
- Shouk:J an incorrect specificati:Jn battery charger be used, adequate vo~age may not be maintained whth can cause the software update to stop
whilst in progress.

2. Switch on the vehtle gnitbn by fo lbwing the instructbns bebw
- Locate the key reader, whth ii in the gbvebox, and remo v e the key reader plastt cover (Fgu re 2)

IMPORTANT: It is imperative that any adjoining keys or any other objects that are attached shouk:J be removed from the ignitbn key ring as shown
in Figure 3, as extra weight may cause the key to withd raw from the reader

- Insert the single ignitbn key into the reader with the blade fok:Jed away until it 'clk:ks' into place and check the key is secure~ bcated with in the
reader
- Press the Start/Stop switch on the centre console to switch on the ignitbn

WARNING: Do not switch off the ignitbn until the software update is complete
- Ensure you are connected to your on - line network - Broadband. Use a hardwire connectbn for software updates Bluetooth connectbns are not
advised.
- Connect the Bentley diagnostic tool VAS 5052A or later approved equipment, to the vehicle On Board Diagnostic (OBD) socket
-From the Desktop launch the Offboard Diagnostic !nformatbn System Service by using the Diagstarter icon

-When prompted, select Offboard Diagnostic Informatbn System and folbw all on screen prompts
