CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: An issue has been identified on a limited number of 2013 model year Jaguar XF (X250) vehicles, fitted with
the 2.0L GTDi engine only, where a 'Restricted Performance' message and a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) are
displayed in the Instrument Cluster.
Action: Retailers are required to HOLD all affected vehicles that are within your control and refrain from releasing the
vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Unsold
vehicles should have this performed as part of the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) process but must have it completed
prior to vehicle handover to the customer. Affected vehicles already in the hands of customers should be updated at the
next available opportunity.

Warranty claims must be submitted quoting Program Code 'K225' together with the relevant Option Code from the table.
The SRO and part information listed have been included for information only. The Option Code(s) that allows for the drive
in / drive out allowance may only be claimed if the vehicle is brought into the workshop for this action alone to be
undertaken.
This program is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date prior to the 31 July 2016 closure date
must be submitted for payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the repair.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
1. Remove the charge air cooler (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 303-12E).

2.

NOTE: Charge air cooler end tank outlet
shown; inlet similar.
Tape over the charge air cooler end tank outlet opening
to prevent any swarf/ dirt from entering the charge air
cooler.
Repeat to the charge air cooler end tank inlet.

3.

NOTE: Charge air cooler end tank inlet
shown; outlet similar.
Cut out the highlighted sections of the charge air cooler
end tank inlet as shown.
Repeat to the charge air cooler end tank outlet.

4. Using a 7mm drill bit, drill to a maximum depth of
15mm which will go all the way through the charge air
cooler end tank inlet's brass inserts and plastic
moulding.

NOTE: Charge air cooler end tank outlet
shown; inlet similar.
Clean away all debris before removing the protective
tape from the charge air cooler end tank outlet.
Repeat to the charge air cooler end tank inlet.

NOTE: Make sure the rubber sealing gasket between the duct and the charge air cooler is correctly

positioned.

NOTE: Make sure the washer is next to the bolt head, to prevent any damage to the plastic charge
air cooler end tank during the tightening process.
Using the bolt/washers and locknuts, install the charge air cooler end tank outlet duct to the charge air cooler end
tank outlet.
Tighten to 7Nm.

8. Using the bolt/washers and locknuts, install the charge air cooler end tank inlet duct to the charge air cooler end
tank inlet.
Tighten to 7Nm.

9. Install the charge air cooler (see Workshop Manual, section 303-12F).

10. Use Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic equipment and read and clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
