RE: 2013 Fit EV Plug-In
Dear Honda Fit EV Owner:
What is the reason for this notice?
Our records indicate that aa PRODUCT UPDATE has not been completed on this vehicle; refer
to the address card for the affected VIN. The 2013 Fit EV is designed to charge at a high rate
resulting in a shorter charge time. In rare cases, there may be a poor connection between the
charger and the charge inlet that causes the inlet to overheat. To protect the charge inlet from
damage, the vehicle stops charging, even if the vehicle is not fully charged. A software update
has been developed that will allow the vehicle to finish charging at a slightly reduced rate in
order to lower the inlet terminal temperature, but this may increase the charge time. The
software update will also program the green LED, located at the charge connector, to blink
rapidly when the vehicle is charging at a reduced rate.
What should you do?
Please contact any authorized Honda dealer to schedule a service appointment. The dealer will
update your vehicle free of charge.
The dealer will also apply a self-adhesive update to the owner’s manual, so please make sure it
is in the vehicle when you have the software update done.

RE: 2013 Fit EV Plug-In

Estimado propietario de un vehiculo Honda Fit EV:

éCual es el motivo de esta notificacién?

Nuestros registros indican que no se ha completado una ACTUALIZACION DE PRODUCTO en
este vehiculo; consulte la tarjeta de direccién para ver el VIN afectado. El Fit EV 2013 esta
disefiado para cargarse a una alta tasa de carga con el resultado de un tiempo de carga mas
corto. En casos raros, puede haber una mala conexi6n entre el cargador y la admision de la
carga que ocasione que la admisién de la carga se sobrecaliente. Para proteger de dafios la
admisién de la carga, el vehiculo deja de cargarse, inclusive si no esta completamente cargado.
Una actualizacién se ha desarrollado la cual permitira que el vehiculo termine de cargarse a
una tasa de carga ligeramente reducida con el fin de disminuir la temperatura del terminal de
admisién pero esto puede aumentar el tiempo de carga. La actualizacion del programa también
programara el LED verde, ubicado en el conector de carga, para parpadear rapidamente
cuando el vehiculo esta cargandose a una tasa reducida.

2Qué debe hacer?

Por favor comuniquese con cualquier concesionario autorizado Honda para programar una cita
de servicio. El concesionario actualizara su vehiculo sin costo alguno.

El concesionario también aplicara una actualizacion auto-adhesiva al manual de propietario, asi
que aseguirese que se encuentre en el vehiculo cuando se realice la actualizacion del
programa.
