that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis. Use the attached procedure. Review the DWC or SIR online systems for
“Complete” next to the “43-32” campaign code prior to performing this repair.
NOTE: Chassis affected are so new that Kenworth
may not have customers’ names and addresses registered. Please contact your
customers or check your lot for these chassis.
Warranty
This emissions campaign does not expire. Kenworth
will pay for parts at dealer net, plus applicable mark-up and labor. File the appropriate Quick Claim or
long claim form, if required.

Background
The fitting on the doser side RHUC Aero Exhaust went from a straight fitting to a 90-degree fitting at the implementation to VOSS
lines. This fitting forced the line downward before it could route back up to the rail or to the tank. This dip in the line can lead to possible
DEF pump priming issues, crystallization, and subsequent fault codes.

Rework Instructions
Follow Routing Instructions
If chassis has no active codes present, reroute the DEF line according to attached procedure.
For chassis with active codes present, follow appropriate troubleshooting steps AFTER rerouting DEF lines.
For MX powered chassis with RC4 software, with P1514, P1518 or P151A active codes, contact the ESC for service level key and
use the DEF Operator Interface disable to temporarily disable the de-rates caused by the P3859 fault. This will allow the technician
to operate the vehicle normally and get the diagnostic routine to run and ensure that the condition that triggered the P3859 has been
corrected. Refer to the OBD Repair Verification Cycles Steady-state and DEF doser & SCR drive cycles for the appropriate
conditions that will allow the diagnostic to run.
4. The DEF pressure line from the tank to the doser must be routed such that the last 18 inches of line are at a 10-degree minimum
downward inclination.
