This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. There is a
possibility that the charge-air pressure hoses are not secured sufficiently to the turbochargers
on the affected vehicles due to unfavorable tolerances.
As a result, the pressure hoses can slip off the turbochargers.

Action
Required:

Replace retainer springs for the charge-air pressure hoses on the turbochargers with modified retainer
springs.

vehicle. This campaign is scope specific to the VIN! Failure to verify in PIWIS may result in an improper
repair. This campaign affects 698 vehicles in North America.

Attachment "A": Work Procedure
Replace retainer springs for the charge-air pressure hoses.
Information
The affected pressure hose connections can be found at the bottom of the turbocharger and can be
accessed through the left and right wheel housing.

Raise the vehicle on a lifting platform  Workshop Manual '4X00IN Lifting the vehicle'.

Information
During this campaign, the retainer springs fitted on the pressure hoses on the turbocharger must be
replaced with modified retainer springs, Porsche Part No. 000.043.209.32.
If the original retainer springs are used on the affected vehicles, there is no guarantee that the
charge-air pressure hoses will be adequately secured.
To avoid any mix-up between the old and new retainer springs, the modified retainer springs must be
marked in color before installation, unless they are already marked accordingly upon delivery.

Apply a color marking to the new, modified retainer springs, unless they are already marked in
color upon delivery.

Replace retainer spring for the charge-air pressure hose on the turbocharger for cylinder
bank 1–3.

Remove front part of front wheel housing liner at the right  Workshop Manual '505619
Removing and installing front wheel housing liner'.

Turn the front wheels fully to the right.

The fixing clips for the engine compartment cover will be damaged during removal. As a
result, new fixing clips must be used when re-installing the cover.
3.3

Lever off fixing clips  Loosening cover
-2- for the engine compartment cover 
Loosening cover -1- using Nr.21 - disassembly tool and bend the cover down 
Loosening cover -arrow A-.
Push the cover  Loosening cover -1- under
the lower control arm if necessary in order
to secure the cover and make it easier to
access the turbocharger.

Lever the retainer spring  Removing
retainer spring for cylinder bank 1-3 -1- for
the quick connector on the turbocharger off
the charge air flange  Removing retainer
spring for cylinder bank 1-3 -2- through the
right wheel housing using a large slotted
screwdriver  Removing retainer spring for
cylinder bank 1-3 -arrow A-.
To do this, pry the retainer spring out of the
guiding groove on both sides of the quick
connector one after the other and pull it off
the charge air flange.

Fit new retainer spring Fitting new
retainer spring for cylinder bank 1-3 -1-,
Porsche Part No. 000.043.209.32, into
the guiding groove at the quick connector
and push it on  Fitting new retainer spring
for cylinder bank 1-3 -arrow A- until the
retainer spring engages at the end position on
the charge air flange  Fitting new retainer
spring for cylinder bank 1-3 -2-.

Press the charge-air pressure hose towards
the turbocharger several times to make sure
that the pressure hose has engaged fully in
the quick connector.

Check that the pressure hose is locked correctly in the quick connector by trying to pull the
pressure hose off the turbocharger.

Position engine compartment cover  Fitting
cover -1- on the longitudinal member and
secure it with new fixing clips  Fitting cover

Lever the retainer spring  Removing

the quick connector on the turbocharger off

housing.
To do this, pry both ends of the retainer spring
out of the guiding groove one after the other
by pressing them towards the turbocharger

Then, turn the retainer spring on the charge

Then, turn the retainer spring into installation
position  Fitting new retainer spring for
cylinder bank 4-6 -arrow B- and press it
forward in direction of travel at the same
time until the retainer spring engages in the
guiding groove on both sides.

Move the retainer spring up and down in the guiding groove to make sure that the retainer
spring is fully engaged in the guiding groove.
Then, check that the retainer spring is positioned correctly in the guiding groove using a
mirror.

4.5

Press the charge-air pressure hose towards the turbocharger several times to make sure
that the pressure hose has engaged fully in the quick connector.

4.6

Check that the pressure hose is locked correctly in the quick connector by trying to pull the
pressure hose off the turbocharger.

Enter the workshop campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
