PURPOSE:
On some John Deere engines used with 2100
Plus two-stage fan units, the turbo solenoid cycles
repeatedly due to an electrical feedback issue
when the engine is turned off. Those engines are
equipped with a turbo solenoid that is triggered
by the low monitoring voltage put out by the VMM
modules. This causes the turbo solenoid to cycle
every 10 seconds and can result in excess wear.
This only occurs when the auxiliary engine is off,
the master switch is on, and the chassis ignition
switch is on. Not all units have experienced this
issue: to date, only four units have been identified
with this problem.

All 2100 Plus Two-Stage Fan units need to be
checked for the model number. Not all John Deere
Engines have this turbo solenoid. Check the model
number of the John Deere engine on the unit. Only
engines with the model number 6068HF485 have
the turbo solenoid.

PROCEDURE:
1. Shut down the unit on level ground, set the brake, and
follow lockout/tagout procedures.
2. Locate the model and serial number tag on the auxiliary
engine.
3. If the model is 6068HF485, continue to Step
4. If you have a different model number, you
do not need to perform this procedure.

PROCEDURE CONTINUED:
4. Refer to the attached schematic.
5. Locate the C12 connector at the auxiliary
engine.

6. Locate the red wire (C12-G) on the Vactor
side of the connector.
7. Per the schematic, install the relay at a
location that is convenient to the connector.
8. To test and verify correct operation of the
turbo solenoid, the chassis ignition switch
must be on, the master switch must be on,
and the auxiliary engine must be off. Listen
for the turbo solenoid to verify it is not cycling
every 10 seconds. Correct as required.

9. Secure the wire harness and relay to seal out
the elements.
10. Run the engine to test and verify correct operation.
11. Submit the warranty per instructions.

Warranty Coverage and Claim Submittal
If the problem is known to exist, or is discovered during a routine inspection, a claim should be
submitted for warranty, using the following information:

CAUSAL PART: 45543-30
To create the FAULT CODE, click AUX ENGINE(12), TURBO RELAY MOD(150).
In the FAULT FOUND drop down list, select ELECTRICAL SHORT.
In the CAUSED BY drop down list, select IMPROPERLY INSTALLED.
To enter the Service procedures, perform the following:
Select: AUX ENGINE(12), TURBO RELAY MOD(150), REMOVE AND REPLACE(00).
Standard Repair Time (SRT) of 1 hour is allowed.
