Condition
The engine leg-to-flywheel housing bolts (both driver and passenger sides) on identified chassis may have
been under-torqued. This campaign checks or corrects torque on chassis not yet in service and replaces
bolts, with proper torque, for chassis that have already been delivered to customers.

Chassis Affected
1,590 T400s, T660s, T700s, T800s and W900s equipped with Cummins ISX or ISX11.9 engines and built
between 11/22/11 – 12/12/11. See the attached Chassis List, Dealer-Customer-Chassis list and Customer
Letter.

Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.
Use the procedure below, but review DWC or SIR online systems to verify that campaign “14-22” is still open
or already completed prior to performing repairs.
Note: Some chassis are so new that Kenworth does not have customer addresses in our system. Customer
letters will be addressed to the selling dealer for these. Please check your lot and perform repairs on any inhouse chassis prior to delivery to the customer. Contact the customer if your dealership has received the
campaign letter but the chassis has already been delivered.

Warranty
There is no time or mileage limit to this campaign. Kenworth will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable
markup and labor as appropriate to the repair. See the Procedure and related Quick Claim descriptions,
following.
Quick Claim 14-22a: torque check/correction only (dealer inventory), includes 1.00 hr labor, no parts
Quick Claim 14-22b: R&R of hardware (customer delivered), includes 1.75 hr labor and parts listed.

Background
Kenworth has determined that any loose bolts on chassis that have not been placed in service will not be
damaged. These bolts can be re-torqued if necessary. Kenworth cannot know what stress may have been
applied to loose bolts that have been in service and these bolts should be replaced, per procedure.

Procedure
For chassis that have not been delivered to a customer, check bolt torque of the engine leg to flywheel
housing bolts; four bolts per engine leg, both driver and passenger side legs, eight bolts total. Ensure bolt
torque is 243-297 lb-ft
For chassis that have been delivered to a customer, replace all eight bolts with washers and torque to 243297 lb-ft.
