Title: Eaton Fuller UltraShift Shift Cable Adjustment Procedure.
Applies To: Vehicles built with a cable shifted Eaton UltraShift
transmission.
DESCRIPTION
This iKNow article explains the process necessary to adjust the shift cable on a
vehicles equipped with an Eaton® Fuller UltraShift™ transmissions with a dash
mounted shifter, rather than the push button electronic shifter.
SYMPTOMS
Fault code 14 in the transmission ECU
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
Step 1:
Place the shift lever in the cab to the neutral position.

Place the transmission selector into the neutral position.
Step 3:
Rotate the selector shaft clockwise until the stop is reached. Then, rotate the
selector shaft counterclockwise two detent positions to achieve the neutral position.
Step 4:
Next, thread the pivot onto the cable end at the transmission until the pivot roughly
aligns with the hole in the selector lever.
Step 5:
Push and pull the cable at the end near the transmission to approximate the amount
of slack within the shift control system. Then adjust the pivot position so the slack is
divided when the pivot slides into the selector lever hole.
Step 6:
Secure the pivot to the transmission selector lever with a cotter pin.
Step 7:
Check the shifting for proper shift sequence, binding, and cable travel.
